Former CFO (multiple industries); private-equity operating executive
John has a wealth of experience as an executive in finance, particularly in chief financial officer roles, and in corporate strategy and management, transactional M&A and integration, operations, complex financing transactions, team-building and corporate board matters. His career spans four decades in a broad spectrum of industries including companies with operations throughout the US, the UK, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, southeast Asia and South America.
John has served as CFO of Frontier Communications, WestPoint International, Trans-Resources Inc. and the countertrade investment business of PepsiCo International. He was an early member of the global portfolio resources group at the private equity firm General Atlantic and was part of the turnaround and restructuring group at AlixPartners. John’s early career began with the corporate finance and leveraged buyout group at Bankers Trust Company (now part of Deutsche Bank) and GE Capital. He has also been a subject matter expert for clients of various advisory companies.
John’s board roles have been for both publicly held (including audit committee chairman) and privately-owned companies in industries such as healthcare services, software, consumer retail, and ship construction. A current board position is chairman of the Finance Committee of a nonprofit hospital.
John holds a BS in finance from Cornell University and an MBA from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management.
